Providence Baptist Church (“PBC”) takes the protection of your privacy seriously.   Your knowledge of PBC’s security and privacy practices is important to us. This policy has been produced to advise you of the type of personal information that may be gathered during your visit to our website, and how we may use that information. Except where personal information is collected for a specific purpose, explained below, information collected by this website will be used to assess your needs as a user of the site, so that we may adapt our site accordingly, such as to:  improve the content and functionality of our website, to better understand the needs and interests of the people and organizations that use our website, and to improve our programs and services.

PBC reserves the right to modify, amend, change, add or delete the terms of our Privacy Policy at any time without further notice. Any time that you choose to use our website, you consent to be bound by the terms and conditions then in effect; therefore, you are advised to review the Privacy Policy periodically to remain abreast of any changes.

  1. Personal Information

Generally, the information that we collect is for Church purposes such as: ministry, contributions, registration information to participate in Church sponsored or promoted activities, outreach in response to a request by you that we contact you, or as the result of your visiting PBC to keep you apprised of our activities. Personal, identifiable information such as name, address, telephone number, email address or credit card information is not automatically collected; it is collected when you intentionally, knowingly and voluntarily submit it.

  1. Use and Protection of Information and Data

The information that you provide is used for the purposes for which the information was intended, such as We use the information you provide for the purposes for which it was originally collected, for example, to respond to your email or to provide the programs or services you requested.

Your personal information will not be sold, traded, or disclosed to third parties, except as provided here: (1) when submitted for the specific purpose of making a contribution or payment to PBC online so that the vendor may process the payment; and (2) when submitted for the specific purpose of purchasing Church sponsored or promoted products or events so that the provider of the product or service may process the payment.

  1. Cookies and Security

 The PBC may also use “cookies.” Cookies are used to collect small pieces of data that are stored on your computer to determine your usage of the PBC website.

PBC employs appropriate, customary and reasonable safeguards to protect the information in our possession against loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, destruction and alteration.  Email is not a secure method of transmitting information. PBC cannot accept responsibility for the security of information that you send to us by email. Secure areas on our website for submission of private information are those indicated by a secure certificate. Online payments are processed through the secure server of PayPal and Payscape.  In the event the PBC website contains links to websites of unrelated third parties, PBC hereby disclaims responsibility for the privacy practices or content of that website. You will need to contact the third party directly or review the privacy information on the third party’s website.

  1. Minors

The PBC website is not subject to COPPA; however, it is important that we do our part to maintain their privacy. To that end, PBC states that it will not knowingly use, collect or distribute to third parties any information that constitutes personally identifiable information from any child under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. In addition, PBC will not knowingly permit any child under the age of 13 to post publicly or distribute any personally identifiable information without verifiable parental consent. If a child under the age of 13 wins a Church sponsored contest, the rules for which provide that the contest is open to all ages, winner notification and prizes will be sent to the parents or guardians upon execution of a release for same.

   Reliability:  PBC makes no representations or warranties regarding the condition or functionality of our website, its suitability for use, or that this web service will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

Endorsement: The view and opinions expressed herein do not necessarily state or reflect those of PBC, and shall not be used for advertising or product endorsement purposes. Any references contained on the PBC website to a commercial process, product or service is not necessarily to be construed as an endorsement or recommendation by PBC.

Damages/Limitation of liability:  By choosing to use the PBC website, you assume all risks associated with the use of this site, including any risk to your software, data or computer being damaged by any software, virus or other file that may be transmitted or activated by or through the PBC website or your access of our site.  PBC shall not be liable for damages of any kind resulting from the use of misuse of the information contained in the PBC website. The limitation of damages includes general, incidental, special, consequential, lost profits, lost revenues.

 

  1. Refunds

Once an online contribution has been submitted to PBC for tithe, offering or donation, it is considered to be nonrefundable.  Refunds for specific events will be governed by the terms posted within the event registration form.
