Celebrating 30 Years of Service from the Maidens

What happened in 1980? Well, in addition to Ronald Reagan being elected as US. President, the start of the Iran/Iraq war, the eruption of Mt. Helens Pastor Rodney and Sister Henrietta Maiden began their service as a bright eyed young couple at Providence Baptist Church. Pastor Maiden is the son of Rev. John Maiden and was inspired by his father’s service at a young age. The Maidens moved to Cleveland from Youngstown, Ohio to begin to make their mark on a congregation already rich in history, evangelism and service.

Throughout their 30 years Pastor Maiden has led the transformation of Providence as God has continued to bless the congregation and the lives that it has touched.

To commemorate the Maiden’s 30 years of service, Providence has used the entire year in 2010 to offer a variety of celebratory events including fellowship, a puppet show, mid-week Bible study with Pasor Alistar Begg from Parkside Church to a huge event that will feature Dr. Tony Evans. Dr. Evans and Pastor Maiden have a long and deep friendship and Providence could think of no other person to feature at the Wolstein Center for a worship service on October 17, 2010. A tremendous amount of planning and preparation has gone into creating a memorable worship experience that is actually drawing people from other states.

We are blessed to have had Pastor Rodney and Sister Henrietta Maiden shepherding our flock at Providence Baptist Church.
